Portuguese President Cavaco Silva went back to school

25/06/2008

Mr. Cavaco Silva, the President of the Portuguese Republic, recently visited the Agrupamento de Escolas da Apelação, in Loures, Portugal.

The Portuguese President attended a meeting with teachers and students from the Agrupamento de Escolas da Apelação and from local youth associations.

Students presented a documentary film that illustrates school and life style in their region. The Youth Associations shared some of their specific activities.

The visit enabled students to express their views on important themes such as inclusiveness and equality. The visit programme also included a theatre performance called “The Next Season” as well as a Hip Hop song.

Mr Cavaco Silva was pleased to visit the school and find out more about the students’ daily activities. The president congratulated both students and teachers on their results and wished them good luck in their further learning and teaching activities about Europe.
