16/05/2008 by: Petru Dumitru

On 13 May 2008, Mrs. Margot Wallström, European Commission Vice-President and Commissioner for institutional relations and communication strategy will visit the Katedralskolan in Uppsala, Sweden.

Joan Lindberg, who is in charge of the event at the Katedralskolan, Uppsala, Sweden tells us: “Mrs. Wallström will speak to the students in the auditorium and take questions and discuss about our common future, challenges facing us all and opportunities for young people to make their voices heard.”

Mrs. Wallström is also expected to meet students studying International Relations to continue the discussion on a smaller scale. This smaller group has prepared questions about intercultural dialogue, environmental issues and foreign aid.

“Guess who is going back to school” is part of the Spring Day for Europe campaign. It has the purpose of inviting public figures and experts to visit schools and host debates that focus on the latest developments in the European Union. To date a large number of public figures, including EU Commissioners, Members of the European Parliament, state presidents and members of national parliaments have visited schools.
