Spring Day for Europe is an annual event that encourages schools to book one or many days in their calendar to organise events that focus on debate, interaction and reflection on European themes. Spring Day for Europe is an opportunity for young people to express their views and make their voices heard in Europe.
Why register your school?
Schools in Europe, as well as around the world, are invited to visit the Spring Day for Europe 2008 web portal and register school and teacher information. Once registered, schools have access to the full package of resources, activities, tools and services of the web portal.
Past events
Spring Day was launched in 2002 as an initiative of the Members of the European Convention. The original idea was to involve schools in debating exercises on how to better communicate Europe to its citizens. By offering a wide range of traditional and ICT-based activities, Spring Day aims to encourage meaningful dialogues between youth and local, national and European public figures.
European Year of Intercultural Dialogue
The European Year of Intercultural Dialogue (EYID, 2008) was established by a decision of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union on 18 December 2006. The European Year is expected to promote intercultural dialogue and raise the awareness of citizens of cultural diversity based on common values. Spring Day for Europe 2008 completes the year by bringing intercultural dialogue to schools and making young people aware of our common European cultural heritage.
